Mexican Hat - a Road Trip to Utah USA | #InfiniteWanderlust

Mexican Hat is a small town in southeastern Utah, United States. The town is surrounded by distinctive rock formations. 


Mexican Hat got its name from an impressive rock formation - a large flat rock perched on a small base - that resembles a Sombrero. 

The town is located on Highway 163 along the banks of San Juan River. You can see scattering of Navajo houses as you drive through 163 to Mexican Hat.

Popular attractions like Monument Valley, Goosenecks State Park and the Valley of the Gods are within 25 miles of Mexican Hat. There are limited facilities available in the town including motels, restaurant and a gas station. 

The famous Forrest Gump point is near to Mexican Hat on Highway 163.
