Barton Springs - an underground spring-fed swimming hole -  is one of the crown jewels of Austin Texas. The people of Austin flock to the Barton Springs Pool when the heat hits Texas. 

The pool is popular for year-round swimming because of the constant 68 degrees Fahrenheit temperature. The pool is located in the Zilker Metropolitan Park. The pool is over 3 acres and around 900 feet long. Depths of the pool range from 0’ to 18'.  Grassy areas surround the pool and patrons are seen lounging. 

Barton Springs is a free-spirited pool which attracts people from all walks of life. Food and drinks are not permitted at the Springs. But you can hit restaurants along the Barton Springs Road.

P edernales Falls State Park is a classic Texas hill country attraction. This beautiful park is about 1 hour drive from Austin Texas. Any outdoor lover who enjoys being in nature will have fun in the park. The Pedernales River flows through the park and the main attraction here is the scenic Pedernales Falls. Unusual limestone rock formation along the Pedernales River is another distinct attraction. The falls are easily accessible from the parking area.  Activities like the swimming, tubing and fishing are allowed in the park in designated areas. Consult the trail map before getting into the water. Pay strict attention to -no swimming- signs. The park is open year round. The best time to visit would be the Spring. George Wallace Tunnel Mobile Alabama USA | #InfiniteWanderlust

G eorge Wallace Tunnel  is a marvel of engineering located in Mobile, Alabama in southern United States. This is an underwater tunnel along Interstate 10 that crosses from the Mobile city's downtown, goes beneath the Mobile River, and emerges on Blakeley Island. The depth of clearance is 40 ft for the ship channel over the tunnel.  The 2 tunnels were built in sections and floated to the proper positions, then sunk. Each section was sunk next to the previous section and joined underwater. When all sections were connected, and concrete set into place, they were pumped dry and finished out.  The tunnel is well lit and clean. The drive is fun. Don't hit the brakes unnecessarily. Maintain the speed. You will loose radio reception midway through the tunnel though.  This tunnel is named after former Alabama Governor and Presidential candidate George Wallace.
